The Churchill MK IV is a British heavy infantry tank from World War II. It became one of the most recognizable Allied vehicles during the war. Produced in the years 1941-1945, it was modified many times, and many special vehicles were created on its basic design. The Churchill turned out to be a successful design valued for its strong Armor, low silhouette and mobility in difficult terrain. The MK. IV was equipped with a six-pound (57 mm) gun. The British Mark V tank (male version) was produced in 1918 at the end of the First World War. The tank was equipped with two 57mm cannons and five machine guns operated by a crew of eight. The Mark V travelled at a dizzying speed of 7.4 km/h and could cover 65 km on the road! These tanks took part in the clashes at Gomel, Amiens and on the Hindenburg line on the Western Front. To this day the museum specimen from The Tank Museum in Bovington (Great Britain), numbered 9199, remains in operation. It was this specimen with documented combat history that served as the prototype for the COBI block model.

Only one was made, and it’s well cared for as a "star" in The Tank Museum in Great Britain. A characteristic feature of this unusual vehicle is its multi-turret design! The order for a multi-turret heavy tank was placed by the General Staff of the British Army in 1924. In 1926, a prototype of the tank was presented. The Great War ushered in the era of steel elephants, which continues to this day. It was then that the design of one of the first tanks was born: MARK I (Male) number C.19. The Sd. Kfz.251 was the basic half-track armoured personnel carrier of the German army during World War II. Production of various versions started in 1939. Other combat vehicles were also built on its basis. It was produced in four production models, from A to D, and 23 basic and field versions, the standard and most numerous of which was the Sd. Kfz.251/1 armoured personnel carrier. The armoured hull was made of welded Armor plates. The front section ended behind the driver's seat. It protected the driver, commander and engine. The fighting compartment accommodated 10 soldiers. The rear, large, outward opening door allowed access to the interior.

The aircraft carrier was towed to Szczecin, where useful equipment was dismantled. Its construction was never completed. The USS TANG is an American Balao-class submarine from the Second World War. The ship's armament included 24 torpedoes, an anti-aircraft gun and two machine guns. The maximum tested operational depth was 180 meters. It was launched on August 17, 1943. On October 24, 1944, the Tang was sunk during its fifth patrol. The sole commander of the unit was Richard O'Kane, who, along with eight sailors, survived the ship's catastrophe and remained in Japanese captivity until the end of the war. Statistics indicate that the USS TANG was the most successful submarine in the Pacific. It sunk between 24 and 31 enemy vessels.

Seehund (Type XXVII B) was a midget submarine produced in Germany at the end of World War II. Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel (LCVP) or the Higgins Boat was a type of landing craft used during World War II and later to transport and land supplies, small vehicles and soldiers. They were used on a massive scale during D-Day (June 6, 1944) and in Operations Torch in North Africa, Husky, Shingle and Avalanche in Italy, as well as in combat in the Pacific in the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Gilbert Islands, the Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
The Higgins Boat was designed by Andrew Higgins. Various manufacturers produced over 20,000 of these units. Most of the structure was built mainly of plywood, which made the boat very cheap and easy to build, extremely light, but at the same time it did not provide any protection against gunfire. Thanks to the flat bottom, a special lowered front ramp and the drive cover, it could reach any shore, even very shallow ones. The barge could carry a 36-person army platoon on board. In the case of transporting a small vehicle such as an off-road vehicle, it could also accommodate about 12 soldiers or 3.6 tons of cargo. The landing craft reached speeds of up to 12 knots (14 mph, 22 km/h). The boat was also armed with two machine guns operated by two gunners.

The BF 110D was a very popular twin-engine fighter-bomber aircraft of German construction from the Second World War. Produced between 1938 and 1945 it had several versions. Starting with the B version, it was equipped as standard with 4 MG 17 and 2 x MG FF 20mm rifles mounted on the front of the nose and a single MG 15 mounted on a movable station at the end of the fuselage and operated by a radio operator. It was successfully used during the September and French campaigns. The 110 later took over the role of a bomber. The COBI building block model has many moving elements like the rotating wheels with rubber tires, movable propellers and flaps. In the cabin we put two full-size figures of pilots. The brick model was produced with beautiful pad-printed markings, which it used during operation in the Mediterranean Greek campaign. The Dewoitine D.520 was designed and built in 1938 at the Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques du Midi. The Dewoitine D.520 was a single-seat all-metal low-wing fighter aircraft. The production of the aircraft was not interrupted by the surrender of France in 1940. Later copies were made for the needs of the Vichy government, the Air Force and the Italian, Bulgarian and Romanian armies. Polish pilots defending France were equipped with 26 aircraft of this type during the German invasion in 1940. A total of about 755 fighter jets were produced. The design proved to be so good that the aircraft remained in service after the war until 1953.

The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engine basic WWII night bomber. After October 1940 it was also used by the Polish aviation in Great Britain. This extremely successful plane was produced from 1937 until the end of the war in 1945. It was created in many different variants which differed in equipment but not in the basic design. Due to their low manoeuvrability, the Wellingtons flew mainly at night. They were also perfect for coastal patrolling and as submarine hunters. Additionally, they were famous for their high resistance to damage sustained in combat.

The Supermarine Spitfire is the most famous British fighter of the Second World War. Its design turned out to be very innovative, which made it possible to use the fighter throughout the war. Poles also flew the Spitfire! The Lockheed® P-38 LIGHTNING® was a fast and heavily armed American long-range fighter aircraft of the Second World War. This unusual twin-engine aircraft had a nacelle with a pilot's cabin placed between two fuselages. The so-called "flying frame" provided very good performance, which translated into a long production period (which lasted from 1941 to 1945) and a huge number of victories by American pilots. The plane was decommissioned only in 1965.

The Messerschmitt BF 109 was the main Luftwaffe fighter from the Second World War, the most widely produced and in many different versions. Found on every German front of the Second World War, the E-3 version entered production in May 1939. Airplanes of this type took part in the Battle of Britain. The historic prints of the set refer to a machine flown by 22-year-old non-commissioned officer Horst Perez, who, due to a possible engine failure, had to make an emergency landing in a field in East Dean, Sussex. The pilot was taken prisoner, and the repaired plane was tested in the USA and Canada. Currently, the fighter is on display at a museum in Great Britain.

The number 0 represents the end of the year 2600 (on the Japanese calendar) in which the aircraft was designed. Hence the popular term "Zero" invented by the British. The aircraft was designed by engineer Jirō Horikoshi in 1940 on the order of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The model was constantly modified during the war.

Initially, the Americans suspected that the plane was a copy of an Italian design and gave it the nickname "Tony" suggesting Italian roots. The official Japanese name was Army Fighter Model 3. More than 3,000 were produced. It was first encountered by U.S. airmen over Yokohama Harbor during the Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942.

The Ju 87 dive bomber is one of the most recognizable aircraft of the Second World War. The Dornier Do 17Z-2 was a German bomber used during World War II. It gained a reputation for being a fast and manoeuvrable aircraft. It was designed and manufactured by Dornier Flugzeugwerke in the 1930s. The Do 17Z-2 version was one of the last variants of this model and was in operation by the beginning of the war. The DO 17 had a crew of 4 to 6 members, depending on its configuration. Its main task was to carry bombs to strategic targets, and its armament consisted of machine guns and cannons. Classified as the "Wunderwaffe" (German: Wonder Weapon), it was supposed to be one of the projects that would help reverse the unfavourable course of the war for Germany. With its performance, Horten attempted to meet the requirements of the Luftwaffe competition for the construction of an "America Bomber" that would be able to hit targets in the USA. This extraordinary plane is the result of the Horten brothers, Walter and Reimar, who were not engineers, but aviation enthusiasts with extremely bold ideas. They specialized in the development of flying wing aircraft. The prototype was originally designated Horten H IX. The plane was equipped with two Junkers Jumo 004B turbojet engines. The design of the plane was extremely innovative. The wings were delta-shaped, and the fuselage was made of wood and composites, which reduced radar reflection. Some sources claim that the Horten Ho 229 was the first stealth aircraft in history. Research conducted after the war confirmed the reduction in radar reflection, but it was not significant enough to consider this aircraft undetectable to radar. The Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey is a fascinating and futuristic combination of a helicopter and an airplane. The tiltrotor/rotator was the first short take-off and landing multi-role aircraft. It owes its extraordinary properties to the rotating drive system. Engine nacelles with rotors with a diameter of 12 meters can rotate during flight. Thanks to this solution, the machine can take off and land like a helicopter, and after changing the position of the engines, it goes to horizontal flight. Turning the propulsion nacelles by 45 degrees enables both short take-off and landing, like STOL aircraft. The Osprey was jointly developed by Bell Helicopter Textron, which produces wings, engine nacelles with Rolls-Royce engines, rotors, propulsion system, tail control surfaces and loading ramp, and the Boeing Company, which produces the fuselage, cockpit, avionics and controls. The Osprey manufacturing company is called Bell-Boeing. Due to its extraordinary properties, the V-22 Osprey found its way into the equipment of the United States Marine Corps, United States Navy and other services, with the only exception being the US Army. It is used in missions around the world. The Osprey has marked its presence in the Middle East and Afghanistan. The first foreign user of the V-22 was Japan.

Supermarine Spitfire Mk. XVI Bubbletop was one of the variants of the legendary British Spitfire fighter plane used during World War II. Mk. XVI was a modification introduced in 1944, which was characterized by a spherical-shaped cabin (Bubbletop). It significantly improved the pilot's visibility. The plane achieved a high maximum speed of approximately 676 km/h. The armament included two 20mm machine guns and four 7.7mm machine guns. Spitfire Mk. XVI was used mainly as an escort and reconnaissance fighter, taking part in operations on various war fronts. Its improvements, especially in performance and visibility, made it an effective means of air combat late in WWII.

COBI
A block model set of the German DR BR 52 Steam locomotive/Ty2 from World War II announces a completely new "Trains" collection from COBI. The block design faithfully reproduces the body, proportions and details of the legendary steam locomotive, which is probably the most popular and most recognizable for all railway vehicles in the world. The exclusive Executive Edition 2-in-1 includes two different sets of additional bricks that allow you to build a model of the German DR BR 52 locomotive with German markings from World War II or a locomotive with Polish markings of the Polish State Railways from the post-war period of the People's Republic of Poland. In addition to various bricks with different symbols, numbering and markings, the set also includes larger front and rear lamps for the Polish construction, selected bricks in different colours, as well as two different figures: a German train driver from the Second World War and a Polish train driver in the post-war PKP uniform with a characteristic state emblem (the Polish eagle with the royal crown removed by the communists).
The locomotive model was designed in 1:35 scale and features numerous details like symbols, numbering, markings and numerous prints inside the engine room of the locomotive. Thanks to the easily removable roof of the engine room, you can look inside to see the faithfully reproduced details of the devices and instruments used to drive the vehicle. You can even see burning coal in the fire box!
As with a real steam locomotive, the entire engine and tender is coupled together in such a way that it moves simultaneously. Inside the model there are gears forming a complex mechanism ensuring realistic movement of the wheels and the entire drive. Just gently push the model to move the whole locomotive.
Five different designs of wheels in the locomotive make the model sit perfectly on block tracks and are also able to negotiate turns. It is worth noting that the model is also fully compatible with the block tracks of other brands of blocks. The tender also faithfully reflects its historical inspiration. Inside there are many rich details that make the set even more photo realistic. It also has torsion wheel carriages and a special hitch to which other cars can be attached to form a whole train.
The Executive edition includes a special, sturdy block display stand recreating a railway embankment and two interchangeable plates with the name of the locomotive to choose from: German BR 52 and Polish Ty2. The COBI company has also produced its own shape of a block recreating a section of the track. The set includes five such sections with a total length of about 65 cm. The track is made with the modern technology of two-colour injection, which means that each single section is made of two different colours of plastic that are connected to each other. The rails in the colour of Gray steel clearly stand out from the very realistic brown railway ties. There are no visible tenons (studs) on each tie, which improves their realism, and each of them is covered with a board texture, an imitation of wood grain. Tracks can be attached to block plates and have a physical hole, thanks to which you can permanently attach the track to any display you create. The BR 52 or Ty2 or Ty42 was a German-built freight steam locomotive, produced in many European factories from 1942 to 1945. It was a very cheap, simple, yet a very reliable steam locomotive. In Poland after World War II, more than 1,200 of these vehicles were used by the Polish State Railways. The locomotive was able to pull freight trains with a total weight of up to 620 tons at a speed of 80 km/h or 1,700 tons at a speed of 50 km/h. The locomotive was also used many times to haul passenger trains.
